Two distinct ways to work together

Clear choices begin with clear differences.

Brokerage and investment advisory services and fees differ, and it is important for you to understand the differences. Our Form CRS explains both.

Advisory services

Advisory accounts are offered through Ostendale Advisors, Inc. You pay an ongoing fee based on the value of the assets in your account, rather than a commission on each transaction. When we act as your investment adviser, we have a fiduciary duty to act in your best interest.

1.25% a year on the first $500,000, 1.00% on the next $500,000, 0.80% above $1 million, billed quarterly.

What is included

  • Ongoing account management
  • Two reviews a year
  • Retirement income planning

Brokerage services

Brokerage accounts are offered through Ostendale Securities, Inc. You pay a commission or sales charge when you buy or sell, and there is no ongoing advisory fee. When we make a recommendation in a brokerage account, we must act in your best interest under Regulation Best Interest, but we do not monitor the account on an ongoing basis.

What is offered

  • Mutual funds
  • 529 college savings plans
  • Individual stocks and bonds
  • Fixed and variable annuities

Commissions and sales charges vary by product and are described in each product's prospectus.
